The summers in Trebinje are characterized by sunny and extremely warm days, ideal for refreshing in one of the local swimming pools. In the city itself, you have three pools available, while in the closer surroundings of the city, you can find refreshments at one of the river excursion spots or in the water park.
The river pool Bregovi, with its natural coolness and summer garden, has been a favourite swimming spot for Trebinjans for decades. The Olympic pool Banje and the newly built indoor pool are located in the same location almost in the city centre. In addition to swimming, these pools often organize sports events and competitions. If you need not only refreshment but also a little more fun and adrenaline, the Aqua park in the tourist complex Grad Sunca is the right choice for you.
For nature lovers, there are river excursion spots - Kamp Ušće, Club Jazina beach and rods on Sušica. Thanks to the exceptionally favourable geographical position and proximity to the sea, a large number of Trebinjans go almost daily to the nearest beaches on the Adriatic, both in Croatia and Montenegro. In recent years, many tourists also do this, finding accommodation in Trebinje and going to the Adriatic for swimming.
The nearest city on the Adriatic is Dubrovnik, and thus also the beaches in its surroundings like Srebreno, Kupari, Orašac, Plata, Zaton, beach in the bay Lapad and others. Just thirty kilometres from Trebinje is the beach Kupari, once a famous military resort known for its lush Mediterranean vegetation. In recent years, the unusual beach Pasjača, created by throwing large stones that the sea has broken down and turned into fine gravel, is particularly popular.
Most of these beaches are pebble and sandy, but there are also rocky beaches. The nearest beaches in Montenegro are in the territory of Herceg Novi, which has 25 km of coastline.
Among the most popular is the Blatna beach Igalo of spa type with therapeutic sand, great for families with small children. The attractive beach Raffaelo in the settlement Topla is particularly popular among the young. The beach Žanjice on the peninsula Luštica is one of the most beautiful in the Bay of Kotor, and you can reach it by sea or by land. Visiting Adriatic beaches on a daily basis has been a practice for Trebinjans for decades, but if you decide to visit one of the Adriatic beaches from Trebinje, be sure to take into account border formalities and choose a part of the day when there are fewer crowds at border crossings.
